Maldives for me are not just a beautiful destination, but a place where I become my true self – a mermaid and spend a lot of time on and under the water.
Many believe that only the honeymooners go to the Maldives, but in fact, with the right choice of the hotel, you can try a lot of fun water sports and activities.
Your choice depends on the desire to try something new, your physical condition and the ability to pay for all these pleasures. I will share my favorite ones.
This is probably the most popular way of exploring the underwater world of the Indian Ocean. You will need a mask and fins and, possibly, a life jacket, if you do not feel very confident in the water. Those who do not know how to swim at all, can ask for a safety ring and keep it in front or next to them, warning the guide in advance .
Water in the Maldives is very transparent and even from its surface you can view coral reefs and their inhabitants. It is important to stay in a group or with your buddy, since underwater currents and waves can be strong enough in certain places.
Scuba Diving allows you to dive into the aquamarine depth and get closer to the mysterious life of the coral reef. At a depth, the chances of seeing large animals as turtles, rays and sharks increase significantly, and you will have more time to take photos and videos of them.
You do not need to have prior experience or a certificate to try diving, dive centers will offer you Discovery Dive or the Open Water course, which will allow you to make 4-5 dives in divers’ paradise for and get a certificate that will allow you to dive in other corners of the world. Always go for qualified dive centers by international organizations like PADI and SSI and never attemt diving sjajsj alone and negelcting safety measures.
Kayaking is a great activity for the whole family. What I like about it is the ability to choose one or two-seater kayak, which allows you to either relax by taking a husband / friend, or more actively work your upper body(My husband knows how lazy i get so we go for one seater usually)
If you take a kayak for a few hours, you can swim a small island of your hotel or visit neighboring uninhabited islands. This is a fairly safe entertainment provided that you are protected from the sun, have a comfy(read fancy) hat and a good sunscreen are a must. Choose a kayak of bright colors, contrasting water-yellow, red and orange, and they will look just chic on your vacation photos. There are also transparent kayaks and they are especially awesome for exploring the seabed.
Among more extreme water sports I really like windsurfing. I took a few lessons and after the third I could balance on the board and steer the sail.Windsurfing is a hybrid between surfing and sailing. It gives a sense of soaring and full of freedom and costs a few drops during training! In addition to your abilities, success also depends on the weather conditions, so it is worthwhile to agree on the lessons with the instructor, who will check with the approximate schedule of the wind, most importantly, do not be afraid to fall, it happens all the time during classes, and the easier you are on yourself, the faster you will master this sport.
Fishing is another popular activity in the Maldives. Local guys know great places, and catching a fish, you can cook it for yourself for dinner, and, of course, take it off and put it into social network.Fishing is another popular activity in the Maldives. So do not wait for the honeymoon, anniversary or prince-go to the Maldives and try new things for yourself! You deserve these pleasures, pamper yourself!Have a great time exploring,
