Natural and Eco Friendly Beauty

Some say that “beauty is skin deep”, but does it have to be this way? Can my decision to buy a particular product indirectly  save a forest or cute fluffy bunnies? The answer is YES!, if you do your research and shop consciously.

So how do we decide which brand to trust and what products to buy? What should we look at while making these decisions?

I strongly believe that making a thorough research about a particular brand and product will help to determine what fits not only your skin and lifestyle but also your values. In the age of internet, there is an ample amount of information on brands’ ethical and commercial values and the way their products either destroy environment or help to preserve it. Understanding both the brand and the product on a much deeper level, will allow you to make you conscious choices that are good for everyone.

1 Natural beauty care is gaining its popularity for a reason- you get natural ingredients that heal and nurture your face or body while staying away from nasty chemicals. The importance lays in reading the label. Watch out for the bad guys like paragons and artificial fragrance. Also watch out for micro beads that are bad for the Ocean and come back on our plates in the stomach’s of fish.

2 Cruelty free products mean that no animals were harmed and tested on. Many big brands would conceal this nasty fact but you can find out but you can easily research online and make a conscious decision to stop animal cruelty.

Ayurvedic beauty means that the sophisticated recipes have proved to be efficient for hundreds of years. Ayurveda promotes general wellness and guides us in understanding the type of bodies we have, the food that allows us to heal naturally and the beauty care that will match our  skin type.

Recycled packaging is extremely important in the time of plastic over pollution.

5 Sustainable beauty brands do not directly or indirectly destroy environment.

6 “Vegan friendly” product can only be called such if no animal product was used in its creation.

These are a few things to keep in mind when you do your research. Remember to read every label carefully and enjoy natural beauty products.

    Love the post Slava!
I am trying to pay attention what I support as a consumer and this article is very useful. And I guess the problem with packaging is really big – plastic is every where. What is your ideas how brands can change this and stay profitable?
